Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, florasystem has spent much of their life immersing themself in various music scenes in the city, including but not limited to indie, punk, and now underground dance. They draw inspiration from their career as a gardener and florist, seeking to bridge the gap between the atmospheric ambient soundscapes they associate with the natural world and the pumping beats of a dark club. Through their selections of house, garage, ambient, idm, and more, they weave deep mycelial networks of grooves for both on and off the dancefloor. After emerging in early 2023, they have continued a steady rise through sets in DIY dance events at Toronto staples such as The Embassy and Bampot House, along with appearances on Montreal radio stations n10.as and Shift Radio. They are a resident DJ for the queer UK Garage-focused event series Gay-rage and Proud.
