Carlos Fillippo is a collector and DJ hailing from Bogotá, Colombia. He is part of ahora, a collective that has been delivering exquisite dance and electronic music experiences to the city outside of the conventional club spaces for five years. Besides from the out-of-club parties, their work was highlighted by Resident Advisor, when they handpicked their project +ruido[radio] to appear in their Bogotá edition of Community Connections in 2023. Fillippo has played a significant role in curating and producing the radio show that ran from 2020 to 2021 and boasts an archive of over 130 episodes. This RA-hosted celebration happened live in 2023 at Super Rayo, the listening bar where ahora recently became a resident collective. Fillippo’s second residency can be found just a few blocks away at VideoClub. There, he has graced the decks and warmed the dancefloor up for artists such as Veronica Vascika, Lucrecia Dalt, and DJ Hell. Also, Fillippo has had the privilege of sharing the bill on club nights with prominent regional artists such as Julianna, Verraco, Bitter Babe, DJ Babatr, Dany F, and Julio Victoria. His journey through Bogotá's circuit also includes appearances at large festivals like Estéreo Picnic and Baum Festival. A devoted collector and enthusiast of high-fidelity sound, his vinyl records are just as at home in intimate, listening bars as they are on grand stages, spanning genres like jazz, ambient, pop, dub, Italo disco, and house. As an event producer passionate for putting the spotlight on local artists, Fillippo not only contributes to ahora but is also a part of Panorama, the night of bands and live music at VideoClub. This series has brought to the club’s stage some of Bogotá's independent music circuit gems, including Buha 2030, Babelgam, Las Yumbeñas, De Juepuchas, Chúpame el Dedo, and many more.
