Honed over a decade of experience in releasing music and playing residencies across the ever-bustling city of Mumbai, the DJ and producer has transcended boundaries to master the full spectrum of danceable music. With a far-reaching musical understanding that goes back to early childhood classical piano training, Farhan draws upon everything from afro, worldbeat and funk to jazz, house and disco through his constant quest of seeking out new and original sonic experiences. Grooves that traverse stylistic ranges effortlessly are layered under emotionally flowing harmonies to create a sense of immersive euphoria – as presented on notable tracks like ‘Dancing’, ‘Apply Yourself and ‘Rolling’, as well as on collaborative works and remixes with the likes of Bassekou Kouyate and Josh Wink (for whom Farhan remixed the iconic track ‘Balls’, initially as part of the Beatport remix competition before the submission was picked up for an official release). His impeccable tastefulness and grasp of the various aspects of a dance track has led him to receive support from the likes of Purple Disco Machine, David Penn, Mousse T and Mixmag Asia, alongside frequently finding prominence on Traxsource’s nu-disco, disco and house charts. As a selector, Farhan has served as a resident DJ at some of the premier spaces of Mumbai, as an A&R at the multi-pronged collective, label and event series Dynamite Disco Club, and performed at most major stages of the country like Magnetic Fields Festival, Jodhpur Jazz Safari, Vh1 Supersonic and Gin Explorer’s Club. For the most uncompromised view of his passion, Farhan also launched his own club night ‘The House Of Juju’, which evolved out of its namesake radio show on boxout.fm.
