Estaw
Biografía
Holland’s leading high-voltage DJ and producer ESTAW has set sail for America yet again. When last in the States, ESTAW dropped his stunning debut EP “Break It Down” (Brooklyn Zoo Records) featuring vocalists J-Cast & A-Clay and remix masters Herve, Detboi & Chew Fu. Shortly thereafter, Juno Records listed ESTAW & Elroy’s “Round Like This” EP (Face Punch Records) as the #3 Breakbeat Recommendation of Juno’s catalogue.
In live performance, ESTAW’s star power is now transatlantic, as he’s rocked houses in major European cities and everywhere in New York from downtown’s Santos Party House to uptown’s Guggenheim Museum, never neglecting his windmilled homeland however, where he’s headlined parties for Vice Magazine, the Eurosonic Festival, Mysteryland, Rauw and Girls Love Djs, to name a few.
Official remixes range from old school favorites Doug E. Fresh and Jimmy Castor Bunch to new school beat masters and hiphop emcees C-Mon & Kypski,Wiley and mega-producer Chew Fu. As a committed denizen of the craft, studio lover ESTAW has also put his unique brand of hip-hop tinged house to work by churning out an endless supply of unofficial remixes for Nas, Lupe Fiasco, 50 Cent, Pace Rock, Bangers & Cash, Pharaoh Monche, Artful Dodger, and Pharrell.
You can hear ESTAW’s productions in constant rotation by some of the world’s most influential DJs, such as
Laidback Luke, Mehdi, Hervé, Orgasmic, Sinden, Don Diablo, Bart B More, Chew Fu, and BBC Radio 1 DJs such as Annie Mac and Pete Tong. He has been featured in Mixmag, DJ Mag, The Wall Street Journal, and Flavorpill, as well as receiving frequent mentions on blogs as Palms Out Sounds, Discobelle, and Big Stereo.
Without fail the Dutch DJ and producer delivers powerhouse sets that boast an unrivaled breadth of style and sonic range without losing the characteristically chopped-and-sliced sound that has brought him so far. The seamlessly mixed beats never fail to tear up the dance floor and most importantly, always serve to remind us that the Dutch are still as heavy-hitting as ever.
