The Oxford-born, British-Pakistani selector and broadcaster has established himself as a passionate champion of new artists, spotlighting artists from the UK and beyond. He is a previous resident on Worldwide FM, where he received high praise from station founder Gilles Peterson. He found his voice interviewing the likes of IAMDDB, Knucks and Wesley Joseph at the early stages of their careers, before adding in-depth conversations with Maverick Sabre, hip-hop royalty Talib Kweli, and one of the UK’s most respected DJs, Benji B. On the dance-floor, Esk refuses to be restricted by sound or tempo. His expansive taste and off the cuff style draws heavily on influences from house, soul and hip-hop, to an array of bass and club ready sounds. 2022 saw Esk break new bounds, with sets at Glastonbury, We Out Here and Boomtown, and iconic venues such as KOKO, Printworks and Somerset House. He played parties from London to New York and Hamburg, billed on line-ups alongside the likes of Bonobo, Snakehips, Kojey Radical, Ahadadream, Gina Jeanz, The Whooligan and many more.
