The history of Erika Mena's DJ career dates back to her childhood, but her serious foray into the world of electronic music began two decades ago in clubs in Mexico City, initially specializing in genres such as darkwave, postpunk, EBM, and industrial. Over time, her focus shifted towards Techno, making her one of the prominent names in the circuit of alternative clubs and itinerant parties in Mexico.
With an eclectic approach and impeccable technical skill, Erika Mena stands out for her ability to captivate audiences with a dynamic mix that spans from techno and house to breakbeats and Latin American rhythms. Her parallel project, DJ Nadie, focuses on Latin rhythms and urban genres, showcasing her limitless versatility and creativity.
During her sets, one can hear everything from percussive bases and uplifting melodies that invite the audience to dance non-stop, to atonal and hypnotic elements that result in an exciting sonic journey.
Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with a variety of notable talents, both nationally and internationally, including Amanda Mussi, Victoria Mussi, Tayhana, Julianna, ISAbella, Hyperaktivist Volvox, Sol Ortega, DJ Minx, Anetha, Woody 92, Objekt, Machino, Radical G, Lauren Flax, MCMLXXXV, Bradley Zero, DJ Hell, Common Poetry, Fiedel, Aurora Halal, Tin Man, as well as local Mexican heroes such as Ricardo Garduno, Luis Flores, Zombies in Miami, AAAA, Mystery Affair, Lumber Jack, Celice, Kodemul, Villaseñor, Arieshandmodel, Ursula Prawn, Enya Botello, and many others.
Currently, Erika is immersed in the exciting Macro Hits project with Amanda Mussi, a record label that highlights the music of Latin American artists and is committed to the LGBTIQA+ community. Additionally, she is focused on producing and eager to share her own music on the dance floors.
