Originally from Orange County, CA, Rik Vinegar bought an old crate of 90s house/breaks records and a pair of cheap turntables back in 2015. With no expectations of playing out, he began learning to mix while frequenting his local shops and exploring the deeper shades of LA’s underground. Within a couple years, he started a residency with Sunday night weekly Like.Minded. Career moves eventually brought him to Long Beach, CA, where he cofounded the 3-year running monthly dive bar getdowns better known as Send>>Return. After moving to Santa Cruz in 2021, Rik and some friends made quick work of getting the town’s dance music scene moving again with their monthly @tideswing.sc parties at the one and only Apéro Club. After two years in the Bay Area, and appearances at parties/clubs including Sunset Campout, Phonobar, Monarch, Budapest's Fine Selection, and LA's Sunday Sessiona, it seems that the Rik train is just getting moving.
