Biografía

Oder's sound embraces techno influences, elaborate sound processes, polyrhythmic patterns and vocally driven downtempo melodic lines. Eric Oder has performed live electronic sets in well-known Berlin clubs alongside artists including Florian Meindl and Black Lotus. Oder's debut album, Memory Hole, is a tribute to Berlin's aesthetic. The album's title is derived from George Orwell's novel, 1984, referencing holes used to destroy documents and rewrite history. The first single, "At War", was produced shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Tracks from Memory Hole were also featured in the film, The Cage - Nella Gabbia (2024) produced by RAI Cinema. As well as producing his own work, Oder collaborates with filmmakers and content creators, composing original music for AAA brands and media production companies. Oder has also worked as a composer and sound artist for institutions such as Staatsballett Berlin and Chamaeleon Theatre. The Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin hosted the world premiere of his music for the original ballet Encounter in 2023. Oder created the audiovisual work Meət for the GreenTech Festival 2023, combining original music with AI-generated visuals. In 2022, Oder composed music for the site-specific installation Testament Of Bucha, supporting Ukrainian victims of war crimes. His current project, SOMA, is inspired by Huxley's Brave New World, exploring themes of individual distortion and euphoria using graphic art, digital and processed AI images, and contrasting analog and digital sounds with the human voice. Oder's work reflects on a rapidly changing era, influenced by technology.
