Going through phases of fandoming many different music genres, at some point the duo took a deep dive into Hamburg’s local underground house and techno scene. It only needed a few nights out until they deeply fell in love with electronic dance music and club culture. Not too long after moving from dance floor to booth, they started their first residency at EGO in 2011, followed by a another one at a hidden club gem in Münster called Der Stur. Eventually, Epikur became part of the well-selected pool of regulars at Hamburg’s renowned PAL club in 2014. A love affair that continues until now. Picking cherries from dusty crates since more than a decade, Epikur found their sound. Still Eddie and Nadja make each set they play and mix they record sounding vibrant and fresh, merging their tunes dug out of a wide span of styles with their imaginative ways of mixing. Imagine a thing like hallucinogenic night drive trance and driving 90s techno fused with percussive oldschool gems, progressive dreams and acid-infused euphoria to get you in the zone. Looking back on loads of memorable b2b’s, Epikur can handle the whole range of set times, no matter if rising the crowd’s curiosity at midnight, dropping full-on main time bombs or playing late and long euphoric closings (which, rumor has it, is their secret passion).
