Born and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens Gabriel Rodriguez (Elephantglasses) has always had a multi-cultural backdrop to his upbringing. Coming from a Dominican family dancing and music have been a dominating force in shaping his musical leanings. Loving rhythm and drums at the age 14 he picked up drumming and formed a band with friends. Through the band Gabriel got to learn the layout of most venues in the city and form connections with fellow musicians. Around 21 years old Gabriel changed his focus from playing in a band to producing solo. Having found the club music scene in NYC producing and DJing took over drumming later adopting the name Elephantglasses. He belongs to the three piece collective Kold Kutz with fellow DJs Blvck Truffle, and Mas Corazon. Since then he has gone to DJ venues like TBA Brooklyn, JJs Hideaway, Elsewhere, Lot 45, Starr Bar, Eris Evolution, Tantra, and Now and Then.
