Hailing from Shanghai, echocatcher is a multi-disciplinary creative - a graphic designer, a DJ and a organiser, and the founder of label BOUNCY BOUNCY and vinyl bistro ANDet in Shanghai. She has been working and creating in the Chinese music community since 2021, but first started in Shanghai, 2019. Her experiences studying art&design in Germany and the UK have given her a multicultural perspective at the intersection of electronic music and graphic design. Deeply influenced by the diverse dancing music scene and bass music in London, after graduating from the Royal College of Art in the UK in 2018, echocatcher engaged in creative work meanwhile exploring electronic music and starting DJ performances. It's lucky for her to transform hobbies into a career. echocatcher is focusing on UK inspired electronic dance music scene and her understanding of it is not limited to only one genre. Expecting her to show you the variety and deepness from UK Garage, Bass Music, Breakbeat to Techno and more, she prefer to play with multi genres. echocatcher has played on radio stations around the world, including Headstream (Bali, Indonesia), BAIHUI (China), Fault Radio (San Francisco, USA), RADIO SOFA (France) and Bangkok Community Radio (Bangkok, Thailand). She took on a residency at Shanghai local club Elevator, Heim, ALL, POTENT and have organised resident dance music events in Elevator Shanghai and ALL Club Shanghai since 2021. Since then, she has performed nationally in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Wanning, Changsha, Xiamen, Guiyang, Tianjin as well as internationally in Indonesia and Bangkok. Be lit by a passion for music and inspired by the simple, direct, loving community and culture in the UK, in 2021, she founded the label BOUNCY BOUNCY, organising dance music events in clubs and more, dedicated to the spirit of ‘UK flavours’. Starting with UK Garage and Bass Music, BOUNCY BOUNCY aims to digging the depth and diversity of bassy dance music while committing to creating a free and inclusive safe space for local community. BOUNCY BOUNCY thinks the core of a party is to trigger the impulse to dance and experiencing a full spectrum of dance music by the bouncy, groovy rhythm.  In the two years and a half since its establishment, echocatcher has continuously invited many talented musicians from both domestic and international scenes, such as Knopha, Dubrunner, Liquid Earth, Tom VR and more, have hosted residency show BOUNCY BOUNCY on BAIHUI (China). Was selected as HEADSTREAM ROUNDUP from Headsteam radio in Potatohead, Bali. Additionally, as a DJ, echocatcher has collaborated with various media, brands, and institutions, including VOGUE+, Nike, Levi's, AMIRI, UCCA, X Museum and more. In 2022, echocatcher, an avid collector of vinyl records, teamed up with friends from diverse fields to establish ANDet vinyl bistro in Shanghai, organising vinyl only music events at ANDet every week. Her knowledge and respect for underground cultures and music hope to shine through as a direct influence to the community. She believes SHARING IS CARING.
