Dúhas
Biografía
For Scottish DJ and aspiring producer Craig Macleod, music has always been a sanctuary. Now, under the alias Dúhas (‘DOO-has’), that sanctuary becomes a professional calling. Derived from the Gaelic term dùthchas, signifying a profound "sense of belonging" to a place or culture, the project represents a homecoming to his true creative self.
The seeds of Dúhas were sown during a life-altering trip to Ibiza in 2016, which transformed a bedroom hobby into a disciplined obsession. Over the years, Craig refined his ear through his KYZ-R and Carn Fada projects, winning a high-profile mix competition to support Framewerk for TLF’s 10th anniversary. This success propelled him to cofound Aberdeen’s EVADE event series and joining Manchester’s MELODÏQ community, while guest mixes have reached wider audiences via FFS, Housetape Radio & LUNA.
Based in Aberdeen, Craig is one of the few selectors in Scotland dedicated to "flying the flag" for the deep, emotive power of Melodic Techno. A frequent traveler across the UK and the European continent, Craig relentlessly absorbs the this sound, constantly feeding his obsession and evolving his own palette.
2025 marked a definitive turning point. Craig stepped away from a high-pressure career to focus on recovery and artistic growth, unfortunately hampered by complications following back surgery this time was fully dedicated to health. Now on the other side of his health issues, Craig is now channeling his resilience into music production.
Dúhas’ sets are influenced by labels like Steyoyoke, KATERMUKKE & Einmusika, as well as titans in the genre like Stephan Bodzin, Township Rebellion, and Lauren Mia. They are a methodical blend of atmospheric textures and hypnotic grooves, exploring abstract soundscapes and prioritising emotional resonance with deep sonic storytelling, designed to move both the emotions and the dancefloor.
