First inspired by the hip-house-music producers Tyree Cooper, Fast Eddie, Larry Heard and a few more, the Swiss Samuel Elmiger aka “Dread J” awakened his enthusiasm for electronic music by the end of the 80ties. .. Dread J played his records at the first ever acid house / techno parties in central Switzerland. In 1990, Dread J starts producing music with his Atari 1040STF and little equipment. In order to start his career and to understand the evolution of electronic music, Dread J travelled through Switzerland to collect old analogue Roland, Moog, Oberheim synthesizer and drumm-machines. In 1992 Dread J produced his first white label release. After this, many Productions followed under the pseudonyms Spectral Noise, Samuel E. and Dread J, on labels such as delirium, Switzerland, Subzero Records, Electron Records and on his own label Dread Industries, founded in 1996. After this achievement, Dread J was offered many live acts throughout Switzerland. After a long break, Dread J is back again as music producer. Several releases are in work, including his remix of "Quarterpounder" from the hamburger DJ and producer HATZLER, which will be launched in late April 2010 on Dimmer Records.
