Over 2 and a half decades of being a synonymous name in Detroit nightlife and underground technoculture. Started with an infatuation with attending underground dance parties in 1991, -1993 attended recording school (R.I.D.) and promoting parties,1995 started performing at Det. parties,1996 founded live electro act Spacelings & Bassheads, began playing over the top live shows, (numerous performances at the notorious Packard Plant) and Syst3m parties. Spacelings also performed at the first DEMFin1999 later became (Movement) In the '00s started DJ'ing for fun, trying to mix favorite cosmic disco songs evolved into adapting alter-ego Dr. Disko Dust and frequently hosting underground dance parties that embraced the feel of the early Detroit parties that sparked his initial love of underground dance. In 2008, joined up with Ian Clark (Le Car, Perspects) and Ron Zakrin (Goudron) to form Ze Dark Park. Currently, a solo project is in production. Coined the term Disco Sludge as a style of music, and currently does a monthly called John Ryan's Disco Sludge Factory at Northern Lights Lounge, Detroit.
