In 2012, he founded the Midnight Ravers project in Mali alongside Madou Sidiki Diabaté and Fatim Kouyaté, blending electronic music with Mandingo traditions. Two albums, several EPs, and numerous tours across Africa and Europe established the project as an emblematic and innovative musical encounter. From this experience emerged his label Blanc Manioc in 2019, successively distributed by Universal Music Africa, Baco, and Idol, and dedicated to new forms of African electronic music. Since 2018, Dom Peter has also been active as a trainer and mentor, sharing his expertise in music production, mixing, and DJing through workshops and residencies in France and across Africa. A globe-trotting artist, he has multiplied collaborations with Chinese Man, Vincent Segal, Labelle, Spoek Mathambo, Simbad, Manjul, and many others. His 2016 album Sou Kono remains a landmark release, acclaimed for its groundbreaking “malitronica” sound. Since Sou Kono, he has also been sought after as a composer for film and documentary soundtracks, including Zinder by Aïcha Macky (Les Films du Balibari – supported by Sundance) and the track “Anna”, featured in Bigger Than Us, produced by Marion Cotillard. In 2019, he co-founded the Maquis Electroniq Festival and the Maquis Room events (in Abidjan, Dakar, and Lyon) — now key platforms for the contemporary afro-electronic scene. These events have since expanded to Gabon, and have recently taken place in Colombia and Brazil. Recognized for his role as a curator and trailblazer, he regularly collaborates with Nuits Sonores, Les Invites, the Biennale de la Danse, and Les Subs in Lyon, as well as Africapitales, Metaxu, and Cabaret Sauvage in Paris. In parallel, he creates for the choreographic stage, working with Salia Sanou and Benjamin Millepied (Paris Danse 2024). In 2024, Blanc Manioc signed leading artists of the new afro-futurist wave, such as Ibaaku and the duo Def Mama Def, both revelations of the Trans Musicales de Rennes. Still deeply connected to the international sound system scene, Dom Peter continues to collaborate with OBF and Stand High Patrol, reaffirming his role as a bridge between cultures, continents, and generations.
