DMG Music
Biografía
Under the ‘DMG’ moniker, Daniel has directed his focus toward a dancefloor ambivalent, sonically-curious sound which characterised his first three, Restore Selected Items (2017), Faith Healer (2018) and Megaliths (2022). These explore the space between ambient and beat driven music and balance delicate textural layers alongside glitch influenced beats.
2026 saw the release of his new album Live the Dream, a homage to the turn-of-the-90s acid house rave scene explosion in his home town of Blackburn. Built largely around audio samples from these rave tapes, Live the Dream explores the soundworld and techniques of early digital audio technology, offering a 2020s perspective on hauntology whilst firmly positioning retro aesthetic in a modern production setting.
His music blends an eclectic range of disparate influences together creating vibrant, euphoric dance music collages, informed every bit as much by the music of SOPHIE as it is by that of Djrum, Rezzett and Boards of Canada. By wielding and often misusing digital tools DMG seeks to create unique auditory experiences that bridge technology and art and ask questions about the nature of intention in the creative process.
