Hailing from Egypt, at a young age Zaki was obsessed with collecting his favourite songs onto cassette tapes in a thoughtful order, creating his own mix tapes. It started with rap and hip hop but during his university years he was exposed to the rave scene in Egypt during its infancy. As the scene grew attracting DJs from all around the world, Zaki’s musical taste gravitated more towards progressive deep dark house with tribal influences. Artists like John Digweed, Sasha, Deep Dish, John Creamer & Stephane K, Peace Division and Satoshie Tommie shaped much of his musical persona. After moving to Cambridge, Zaki continued his DJ journey playing for local club nights, sharing his favourite music with the growing local scene.
