Marcel Mathieu aka DJ Mathieu has long been an influence in Lucerne’s night life. At a young age, he took his first steps onto the turntables and since 1999 he is found regularly in Switzerland and abroad as a DJ. Since 2001, he organizes events in the city of Lucerne and can always be heard as a support act as well. In 2012, he co-founded the event label NjoyMusic, under which regular events are held in Lucerne. Meanwhile, NjoyMusic has become a fixed value in Lucerne’s night life and DJ Mathieu is responsible for, among other things, high-profile and international bookings. International artists such as Derrick May, DJ Bone, Jeff Mills, Claude Young, Anthony Shakir, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Juan Atkins, Deetron, Session Victim and many more, were guests in the last years. With the bookings, it is not difficult to see, that the Motor City Detroit is given a high priority in terms of music. Whether Techno, House, Hip-Hop or Soul, Detroit’s abundant source seems inexhaustible and brings always new pearls for an incomparable set. Not least thanks to his long experience and passion, DJ Mathieu transforms Lucerne’s dancefloors regularly into a boiling dance extravaganza. In the center lies the music, which exclusively gets onto the turntables in the form of vinyl. With his sets, DJ Mathieu offers (Detroit-) Techno, House and Disco at the best, influenced by the whole range that music from Detroit has to offer.
