DJ Flash went to his first rave in 1991 and cut his teeth on the dancefloors of the famous Rage and Paradise Clubs and followed the path from hardcore to jungle and drum and bass. After falling in love heavily with the jungle/dnb sound he got his hands on his his first pair of Technics 1210's in 93 having learned the rudimentaries of mixing on his friend's belt-drive Soundlabs. On the production side 1995 saw the release of his first tunes on the Urban Gorilla imprint. (Pulp Fiction Feat MC Fearless and Pulp Fact on the flip) The two amen smashers were both dancefloor hits and raised his profile. After DJing regularly for a while his tastes began to veer towards the more atmospheric sounds of Good Looking Records and Timeless etc. Comfortable playing any style his true love is Atmospheric Drum and Bass. More recently he felt that there was a lack of regular atmospheric drum and bass nights to attend and decided to try to redress that balance by launching the club night Resonance, playing host to legends PFM, Seba, PHD. After the successful launch he is due to launch a record label and new club night with his label partner DJ Chippie. The vinyl-only Violet Nights Recordings launched in December 2020 is set for big things with releases from Drum and Bass titans. (all to be revealed in 2021)
