Josep Berruezo (Barcelona, 1988), also known as Berru, is an avid music listener and techno enthusiast. He founded Estratechno in 2012, a collective that helped shape the underground techno scene in Barcelona during the early 2010s by organizing more than 30 club events and free parties. He also curated Escapepodcast in 2018, a genreless radio show that aired every other weekend to showcase local young talent.

The Catalan artist has two artistic façades: Dj Berru and The Option B.

Here’s what to expect from Dj Berru: Dark machine-made music for the dance floor. Deeply influenced by Detroit techno, but also exploring deeper and more hypnotic sounds that can range from ambient to breaks or even dub, Dj Berru always tries to orchestrate a psychedelic experience for his audience when crafting his sets.

Having Barcelona’s Nitsa scene and Sideral’s sessions as his main references, The Option B consists of a colourful and synthetic selection that reviews the history of electronic music through acid-house, electro, jungle or synth-pop gems.

Behind these two monikers, Berru has played at clubs such as LAUT, Razzmatazz, BeCool or Estraperlo. He has also performed at Festival’Era, Era Electrònica and Techno Trippin’ Festival.
