DJ Benimaru is a non-binary DJ and promoter. Their DJ career began when they were invited as a guest to record mixes on SESH FM, a program of Bristol's underground 1020 Radio. After moving to Shanghai, Benimaru successively made their mark with Nvshu label and Medusa, Their collection covers everything from the 80s rhythm icon Linndrum drum machine sounds to the sounds of the 1990s – from Disco, House, Techno to Trance and IBM, their mixes are also inspired by industrial music, new wave and post/electronic punk. Their focus is on the identity, recognition and connection between dance music and body and mind, and they seek inspiration from life to choose songs. Music is the medium for them to become themselves. This versatile performer on the stage is making sounds in their own way.
