DJ Acey (mostly known for the shorter Acey) is a Producer, DJ & Dancer. Coming up on the south side of Chicago, IL. He has multiple talents, but his music production is very creative. With his new & extraordinary look on “Footwork” Acey's bringing out the best innovated new style form in this awesome dance genre. Making room for himself to grow - It’s definitely futuristic and innovative! Born De Andre Turner, Acey began Dancing (Footwork) in the near early 2000’s. Known highly as one the youngest G.O.A.T.S to ever touch the dance floor 2010-present. He didn’t stop there! He picked up Producing Footwork music in 2005 where he started using FL Studios DAW, then transitioning to Ableton Live Suite along with buying his first MPC hardware & now the new MPC X with many other synthesizers & outboard gear to experiment new sounds. DJing came sometime later in 2010 when he first met the late “DJ Rashad” at a dance underground battle event asking him - What’s that software? Rashad replied “Serato Scratch Live!! it’s dope”. DJ Acey is mostly self taught in dance and music, but he learned a few pointers coming up around other DJ’s before him such as the Godfather Of Footwork - RP Boo (ArpebuInc, Planet Mu), DJ Earl (Beatdown House, Moveltraxx), DJ Phil (Teklife, Nightslugs), DJ Manny (Teklife, Planet Mu) and the late DJ Deeon. Acey has yet to be releasing music on any major dance labels, but he has self released multiple EP’s, Singles & Full Albums you can get pretty much anywhere. Most of his music being produced from a long used laptop given to by the legendary “DJ Deeon” himself telling him to keep going! Don’t ever stop creating! He then made “Roll X Smoke It” and “I’m Coming 4 You” on his “Two Zero (3) 18” album. Acey took a break in music, but has now resurfaced to continue where he left off after doing festival performances with RP Boo, Dapper Dan, appearances on Adult Swim with DJ Earl & multiple work collaborations with Red Bull & Adidas. After releasing “Headspace” & “11:21:91” named after his birthdate he continues to do his own club/ bar Events. Shows with many popular and upcomig DJ's of the Footwork genre. We all cannot wait to get more than a glimpse of what he has in store.
