Following the inception of local based Record Label - Nomadiq Music in 2012, Lawrence Dix has played a instrumental role in the creation of respected party brands like The Rooftop Of Dreams, True Music Pop-Up Club & We House Sundays. His earliest musical influences stem from hip-hop, funk&soul afro-beat and jazz. Having his childhood surrounded by musical influences, he played drums for most of his junior years and later took up piano, which he now studies at the Jazz School in Cape Town. In 2014 he stepped off the shores of his home continent and travelled to Europe. His recent travels to saw him play at the infamous Watergate Club (Berlin) alongside Mario Basanov, Matthias Meyer, The Cheapers and local favourites Floyd Lavine and Margret West. He also had the privilege of playing at Sisyphos (Berlin), Salon - Zur wilden Renate (Berlin), Chalet (Berlin), Nuba (Paris) Thuishaven Festival (Amsterdam), Rooftop Of Dreams (Amsterdam) Lawrence has featured productions on Just Move Records, Garden Groove Music, Nomadiq Music, Nosi Music & more. His music encapsulates deep emotion whilst his energetic performances are both moving and captivating, having the ability to create a feeling that transcends dance-floors and quite often, expectations.
