His sister, who was part of the Toronto rave movement in the mid 1990’s, first introduced Deian to electronic music. His interest was sparked, and he began playing around with her eclectic record collection. Having laid his hands on vinyl first, Deian quickly realized that being a DJ was not easy in those days. But he immediately felt a passion for this and set off to learn the tools of the trade from those who knew it best. Drawing on his knack for business, he began surrounding himself with some of the local music industry's most talented performers and producers and created a roster of artists, which he managed as his first project in the music industry. The Artist Network was born and Deian's work not only cemented his place in the Toronto music scene, but it also allowed him to spend a considerable amount of time behind the decks. This allowed him to learn and to play the different rooms & settings where the artists under his agency were being booked. In 2011, Deian left Toronto and traveled the world to explore new concepts and ideas. Hitting up almost every world-renowned festival and club along his way, and running into the likes of, Seth Troxler, Matthias Tanzmann, Davide Squillace, Guy Gerber, Dyed Soundorom, Deian broadened his musical horizon significantly. He found inspiration in traveling to different remote parts of the world and reflected on his thoughts before finding the ideal place to start a new solid foundation for his career both in music and in media. After moving to Dubai in 2012, Deian founded a few projects in the UAE including Groove on the Grass open air festival, Clique @ 360, and started to do consulting & brand development globally in the entertainment industry. This allowed Deian to further his career as a DJ and provided a platform for him and other hand picked local artists to showcase their skills amongst the global industry leaders that he continually booked for The Artist Network projects. While playing music is his professional pastime, producing is Deian's real passion. Born to a father with a PhD in robotics, Deian is confident he can use his genetic gift to engineer music that is both intricate and intelligent. In 2013 Deian studied Electronic Music Production at SAE Institute and learned the fundamental of software and hardware integration/ functionality, which finally allowed Deian to start writing his imagination in music. Throughout 2013/14 The Artist Network brought in some serious talent to the region including Carl Craig, Recondite, Tale Of Us, Pan-Pot, Stephan Bodzin, Jay Haze, Anja Schneider, Ellen Allien, Bob Moses, Mind Against, Butch, Konrad Black, Marc Romboy, Robert Babicz, Steve Bug, Dj Koze, Droog, Damian Lazarus, Watergate Berlin, Catz n' Dogz and many many more. Deian had the opportunity to play along side these artists at a multitude of different venues and created strong working relationships for future collaborations. Over this period of time Deian has been able to master diversifying his sound and tailoring his sets seamlessly to fit within the unique characteristics of each venue and crowd he plays for while keeping his trademark sound at the forefront. 2015 will be a year of many new projects and finally the debut of his production release schedule, stay tuned for the future projects & collaborations.
