Born to Filipino parents in the UK, they gave their firstborn son a quirky name. An avid record collector for over a decade, Deejay Nye started his DJ journey in 2022 after purchasing two turntables and a mixer on a whim, decided to face destiny and actually start DJing. Nominative determinism! Inspired by sounds from all around the world, Deejay specialises in playing City Pop, J-Boogie Funk, Disco, House and Hip Hop on both digital and analogue formats. He presents a monthly show on Loose.fm, "Dream In The Street" curating a selection of City Pop, Vaporwave, Hip Hop beats and other oddities. He has also been featured on Aaja Music, Voices Radio and 4TheMusic. Deejay holds a residency at Isla Ray and hosts his own events with other DJs in the community and supports the Go! Bananas open decks.
