Day Astro is the musical amalgamation of experiences from songwriter, producer and DJ, Rahul Rawat. Born in India and spending much of his formative years in the Middle East and the Toronto region of Canada, Day found himself thrown into the budding electronic music scene in his city of residence in San Francisco, California. The co-founder of the budding art house Sutura, Day has helped host an iconic run of bespoke underground electronic music shows spanning the SF and LA music scenes. Astro first appeared in the SoundCloud’s Future Beats and Bounce scene supported by the legendary producers Kenny Beats and Monte Booker. While primarily a producer and songwriter, Day has spend much of the recent year deeply exploring electronic music as a DJ often gravitating towards rhythmic and bass forward sound palettes.
