David Read's musical trajectory can be roughly charted as punk/hardcore in high school, hip-hop in his early twenties, and after moving to Spain from his native California at 24 years old, electronic music. An ongoing love for these genres has given us Sine - a synth-based RnB-electronic experiment with a special attention to the lyrics. Now, David has released CHOIR - remixes of the EP accompanied by a music video for the single “Wurley.” The video shines a light on dissociation, the phenomenon of feeling outside oneself and being disconnected from reality, the sensation that your hands are not your own. The remixes come from the hands of friends and frequent collaborators Bofrax, Mate 0000, and Movemento. Bofi brings us his Nicolas Jaar groove, Mate puts us on the deep house foor of the club, and Movemento closes it out with an ambient dream. David Read forms part of the young collective LANDZA, fostering the live electronic scene in Barcelona. His live show is immersive, joyful, and emotionally charged. Combining a DJ's sensibilities and musician's skill, his sets are special, to say the least. Read shared the stage with Christian Löffler and opened FORT Festival 2018; these days he is performing around Spain and working on his next release.
