He didn’t like the usual. It has always been about finding the different. Starting to compose songs as a kid, he was running hot with his keyboard. The search for “The Frequency”, through synth exploration and non-rhythmic music as a whole, takes him to learn his favourite’s: SH101, Juno 106 and TR 707 as a teenager. When he pieced it all together he figured: That s**t sounds really good. The precocious and driven musician takes the Revival of the 80s into the 2000’s with projects such as Policuska, Ikeya, Seki, and later the electro-surf-punk of Jesus - K. until 2016, which he integrated as a producer and that prevail as a valuable contribution to the live electronic panorama in Portugal. His DJ set performances and productions are the result of his (re)search and urge for strangeness, simplicity and musical functionality, a clear and eloquent vernacular of his sonic journeys. At odds with mainstream and common places DATAHUNTER continues to navigate between breaks and house peppered with some techno, in deeper and further sound scopes, placing his work as a distinctive force not only in his native country but in the international music scene. After having released on Collect Music and Elberec in 2021, Pedro Andrade aka Datahunter is invested in releasing his new EP in 2023. At the same time he and Nuno Ramos have been carving out a niche in the electronic music landscape for Qwyatt Hunter, the promising ambient breakbeat affair.
