Dara Hirsch aka datadata is a DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn. Her ethos is rooted in community and connection on the dancefloor- whether it be through uplifting afrobeats, electro chuggers, or acid house bangers. Her sets shift effortlessly beyond genre’d expectations, which keeps the listener on their toes. She originally got her foothold in indie rock and audio production in the early 2010s, producing records, composing soundtracks, and playing in various bands- including her own live electro-house three piece Operator Music Band. Since the start of her DJ career, she’s been able to jump in full force into the New York dance scene, working on her own productions and playing clubs like Bossa Nova Civic Club, Mood Ring, Mansions, and the hall at Elsewhere. Her mixes have been featured on on The Lot Radio (NYC), Refuge Worldwide (Berlin), Radio AlHara (Palestine), and Voices Radio (London).
