Dåser, otherwise known as Paul Jennings, emerged into the Dublin DJ landscape at the age of 17. Bouncing around venues including the Wiley Fox, Hangar, Opium Rooms and the original District 8, he began making a name for himself in the big smoke. Releasing an EP entitled ‘Artificial Interface’ with Belfast’s Extended Play records saw Dåser dip his toes into the Electro/IDM world. This interest in the spaced-out beats and wonky synths of electro soon spread to all realms of Bass music. Dåser now cultivates a playful, optimistic take on off-kilter club sounds. This is reflected in his recently launched label Reasons To Dance, co-run with friend and longtime collaborator Fionn. A recent release on Ema’s Woozy entitled ‘Doabey’ showcases Dåser’s range of influences, mutating between Post-Dub, UK Funky and Techno soundscapes. His release on his own imprint entitled ‘Salt Rock’ boasts colorful synth design that weaves in and out of hard-hitting yet sparse rhythms.
