Darwin Stapel’s selection of electronic dance music is rooted in two decades of being a professional dancer and the urge and passion to create and share joyful moments with community on the dance floor. Constantly being in an inherently musical environment, as well as taking on the role of the interpreter of music, proceeding his artistic journey with DJ'ing in order to share his musical discoveries, groove, knowledge and joy through music, felt like the most natural step to take for him. For the multidisciplinary artist, music and social environments, where music plays a main role, have transformative potential and the power to facilitate spaces for expression, shape identity, create genuine connection and community and most importantly be there for the cause to share the love. Just as the record by MFSB in 1974 manifested: »Love Is The Message«. Darwin is sourcing tracks of Classic, Underground, Deep and Tech House, peak time bangers and he always stays open to other influences, such as Techno, Oslo Disco as well as soundscapes of the cities he lived in and travelled to. The artist lived and studied in London, Istanbul and currently in Berlin. Darwin's location of residence – Berlin – is no coincidence. Besides moving to Germany’s capital for his design & illustration studies in 2013, it was predominantly House & Electronic Music, the thriving subcultures and the vibrant dance floors that fascinated and inspired him.
