He helped Pioneer Pro DJ develop revolutionary hardware like the SVM 1000, DJM 800 & EFX 1000. But aside from this, Dan also ran London’s infamous G-Club parties with Gerald Elms and Shovell and will shortly be embarking on some hot shows in his new home, Ibiza. Yet to Dan, all that matters is the future: the next party, the next mix, the next video montage, and the next moment of magic – essentially, the next tune. “I’ve always been fascinated by technology and art, and that point where they meet – or clash,” Tait says. Just 30 years old, the Ibiza-based, Essex born star has spent half his life shaping these twin passions into a DJ career which has taken him from his residency at Ministry of Sound in Singapore, to the ever-popular Sonar Festival in Barcelona, the quintessential Glastonbury festival in the UK, the opening & closing parties of Space, F*** me I’m famous at Pacha & Cream at Amnesia in Ibiza, The British Film Institute London and the Bangkok Battle of the DJ's Party (also a Judge). He made his production debut with ‘You Can’t Talk About Love’ and released ‘360 Days’ – a collaboration with Tom Noise, and was included on Mark Knight’s ‘Toolroom’ compilation. The hallmark of all of Dan’s production is his devotion to the celebratory, joyful spirit of true house. His technical skill is used to enhance rather than overwhelm the music, as Dan is first and foremost a lover of music, of mixing and of good times. This ethos is at the heart of everything Dan does and, unlike many gizmo-obsessed jocks, Dan shies away from talking too much tech jargon. Whether playing in the slick surroundings of Ministry Of Sound Singapore or igniting the Space Terrace he feels his greatest achievement is to let his wizardry melt into the background so the music can speak for itself.
