Dan Grooves
Biografía
Previously known as Mr E, Dan spent more than a decade immersed in London’s vibrant underground scene. During that time, he held down regular gigs across the city and beyond—from intimate club basements to larger festival stages—and hosted his own NYC Loft-style party in Bow, celebrating deep, soulful and groove-led sounds. His journey also took him internationally, with sets in Amsterdam, Shanghai and Morocco, as well as appearances at major UK festivals including Secret Garden Party, Wilderness and We Out Here.
After moving back to his hometown of Norwich, Dan threw himself into supporting and elevating the local scene. He became a resident at Gonzo’s Two Room, recently voted Europe’s Best Club by BBC Radio 1, where he regularly plays extended sets across the main room and roof terrace. His adaptability as a DJ is one of his hallmarks—equally at home warming up the floor, driving peak-time energy or locking into hypnotic after-hours moods.
With two decades of experience and a deep foundation in vinyl, Dan's sound reflects a rich musical heritage—drawing from classic deep house, stripped-back deep tech and expansive progressive grooves, always with an emphasis on rhythm, emotion, and soul. His approach nods to the spirit of iconic mix series like Global Underground and Renaissance, crafting thoughtful, narrative-driven DJ sets both in the club and on the airwaves.
Dan also has a long-standing passion for radio. He’s hosted his own monthly show on LOOSE.fm, contributed mixes to Threads Radio and Passion Ibiza Radio, and was one of the first DJs to play on Balamii. In the studio, Dan continues to evolve, with collaborations and solo productions, as well as new material in the works—rooted in his trademark style: warm, groovy and deeply melodic. Whether behind the decks or in the booth, Dan Grooves is all about connection, curation and a love for timeless dance music.
