Damien Goundrie Tasmania-raised Damien Goundrie returns to his island roots bringing over three decades of world-class DJ experience to the local scene. Damien's career began in Tasmania in 1989, where he quickly established himself with residencies at Hobart's premier venues including Babylon and The Lodge, eventually becoming Entertainment Manager and Resident DJ at Club Surreal, Tasmania's largest nightlife development of its time. After acclaimed success in Sydney's competitive club scene, where he served as Music Director of national dance radio station Rhythm FM and performed at prestigious venues including The Ivy, The Argyle, Opera Bar, Chinese Laundry, Home Bar, and The Loft, Damien has reconnected with the thriving Hobart music community. Currently, he performs exclusive vinyl sets at beloved local venues including Manky Sally's, Shambles Brewery, The Den, and The Still. Throughout his career, Damien has shared stages with electronic music royalty including Carl Cox, Sasha, and John Digweed. His production work as part of the Southlight project continues to achieve commercial success through Vicious Recordings, with their recent release "Gonna Raise Me Up" (February 2025) receiving strong international support. Known for his impeccable selection, technical mastery, and unmatched ability to read a crowd, Damien's performances seamlessly blend soul, funk, and disco with sophisticated house classics and contemporary dance music.
