Aufgewachsen im Norden Deutschlands, war zu Anfang vor allem Minimal Tech House in Hamburg ein großer Einfluss für Marvin alias Daddycation. Die ersten Kontakte mit elektronischer Musik machte er bereits im Alter von 13 Jahren. Auch mit Hardtekk machte er sich auf Veranstaltungen in Dresden bekannt. In seiner Heimat Rendsburg veranstaltete und organisierte er mit seinen Freunden zudem regelmäßig Open Airs. Zu der Zeit noch als aktiver Zuhörer und Musikenthusiast. So weckte er ein breites Interesse an verschiedenen Styles elektronischer Musik von Minimal House, Psychedelic, Trance, Hardtekk, Hardcore, Industrial und Hard-Groove. Nach einem Umzug in die Hauptstadt wurde der Einfluss durch den Berliner Techno immer größer und das Interesse wuchs, nicht nur aktiver Zuhörer zu sein, sondern aktiv Musik zu gestalten. Während des Studiums hat Daddycation das Berliner Nachtleben in allen seinen Zügen ausgekostet. Nach über zehn Jahren Interesse, wurden die Turntables 2016 endlich selber in die Hand genommen und das Handwerk des Mixens erlernt. Zu Anfang nur auf privaten Veranstaltungen, erfolgte 2019 das erste Club Debüt bei einer eigenen Veranstaltung seines Klamotten Labels BOCK. Durch fast 20 Jahre Erfahrung in den verschiedenen Szenen, ist sein Geschmack insgesamt genau so breit gefächert. Von fröhlichen House Beats, mit vocal gesprenkelten Klassikern über Industrial, Hypnotic und Hardgroove bis hin zu Hardtechno, kann alles bedient werden. Am liebsten erschafft er eine düstere, dystopische, apokalyptische Stimmung mit rollenden Bässen und hypnotischen Sounds. ‌ Englisch Having grown up in the north of Germany, Hamburg’s Minimal Tech House scene was a big influence for Marvin, a.k.a. Daddycation in the beginning. He first encountered electronic music at the age of 13, getting exposed to hardtek at events in Dresden and regularly hosting and organizing open airs with his friends in his home town of Rendsburg. Throughout his youth he cultivated a broad interest in different styles of electronic music, from minimal house to psychedelic, trance to hardtek, hardcore, industrial and hard groove. After moving to the capital city, the influence of Berlin techno exerted an ever-greater pull on Daddycation. While studying, he submerged himself in Berlin’s nightlife completely, and before long, he became interested in not only being an active listener but in creating the music he loved. After more than ten years of desire, he finally put his hands to the turntables in 2016 and learned the craft of mixing. Initially, Daddycation only spun at private events, but in 2019 he made his club debut at an event celebrating his clothing line, BOCK. Drawing on almost 20 years of experience in so many diverse scenes, his sets are an eclectic tasting menu of upbeat house beats, vocal-sprinkled classics, industrial, hypnotic, hardgroove, hardtechno, and just about everything else that can be served on a pair of spinning plates. But no matter what genre he’s drawing on for a given song, his favorite thing to do over the course of a set is to create a dark, dystopian, apocalyptic atmosphere with rolling bass and hypnotic sounds.
