Biografía

Born in Paris, Cyprien Rose spent his childhood in the French countryside, in the north of the Limousin region, where he made his radio debut in 1987, with a weekly show devoted to dance music and new films. The following year, he began his first club residency in a very small establishment near his home, where he developed his warm up skills before officiating alone. In 1990, he moved to Limoges to join the team of a dance radio, then became the resident DJ of the club Boy between 1991 and 1992, playing every night from Wednesday to Sunday included, which obviously allowed him to further develop his musical knowledge and technique. Cyprien Rose then cultivates an eclectic career, exploring different musical universes with passion, which not only leads him to work for radios and clubs, but also with theaters, dance companies, cinema and television, fashion (Fashion Week, Who’s Next…). He was part of the team who created Éclats d'Email jazz festival in Limoges, and also ensured the artistic direction of the Limoges Short Film Festival. In Paris, he went through the turntables of La Bellevilloise, La Java, Le Batofar, Andy Wahloo, Demory, Sir Winston... He collaborated with Sounds Like You 's agency to sound design and DJ for restaurants l'Avenue (Montaigne), La Société (St-Germain) and Hotel Costes. He is also part of La Mona production's team, one of the best monthly house party in the city. Warm up lover, he opened concerts for (or/& played with) Maceo Parker, Lee Scratch Perry, Mad Professor, Tinariwen, Erik Truffaz, Sly Johnson, Dee Nasty, Odezenne, Karizma, Kiddy Smile, Nick V, Alton Miller, Roce, Young Gods, A guy called Gerald, Ronie Size, Dj Krust, Subject 13, Zion Train, Pigeon John, Raashan Ahmad, Moar, Biggabush, Gilb'r, I: Cube, Superdiscount, DJ Deep, DJ Cam, Jef K, Cyril K, DJ Sundae, Troubl, Miss Chrysalis, Karla Calderon… On Tour, he was part of the compilation "Trip Do Brasil" DJ's team, and supported the movie Calle 54. Abroad, he played in : - Italia, Sardagna (Santa Teresa) - Germany (Berlin, Furth, Erfurt) - Poland (Szczecin, Poznan) - Bosnia (Sarajevo) - Croatia (Dubronik) - Kosovo (Pristina) - USA (Mendocino, Fort Bragg) - British Columbia (Vancouver) As a producer, he leads Monsieur Pink, an electro jazz quartet. For solo and bands projects, he uses various aliases : Elie Saadi, The Fying Star Fish, The Reel Groupie, Diamond & Darkfunk L, Pelye-Khul, Mars-Hell De Neurasthenie… As a record collector, and cinema lover, he played "cinemixes", especially on : Eisenstein’s Potemkin’s Battleship, Inauguration of Kenneth Anger’s Pleasure Dome, or Merwan Chabane’s Biotope, but also Crin Blanc / The Red Balloon (Albert Lamorisse), The Marriage of the Wolf (Lotfi Mahfoudh). He also created soundtracks (theater, contemporary videos), and accompanied dance companies (hip-hop, contemporary and modern jazz).
