Csilla
Biografía
Born in the early 90's and raised in the vibrant city of New York, CSILLA was exposed to a melting pot of musical genres that have influenced her diverse sound. CSILLA has a deep passion and knowledge of electronic music, particularly House, Techno, Electro and EBM. Her early exposure to the underground punk and dance music scene in New York, as well as her time spent in Berlin and across other major cities have contributed to her understanding of the music and its evolution over time.
Heavily influenced by Post Punk bands as well as artists such as Jeff Mills, Regis, Juan Atkins, and Joey Beltram during her teenage years, she began attending and throwing underground house music parties in New York City. During her university studies she relocated to Houston, Texas and there is where she began to play underground events. Houston is the city she gained recognition as one of Texas's leading ladies of Techno & Electronic Body Music frequently playing parties such as Bewitched and Ways. She made her first trip to the city of Berlin and began traveling throughout the years to major electronic music cities in Europe and South America. Much of her influence and style has been built from traveling to cities such as Detroit and Kyiv. This eventually led her back to Berlin to study audio production at the Catalyst - Institute for Creative Arts and Technology. She's been releasing more music and experimenting with sound engineering, which no doubt adds to her understanding of the technical side of dance music. Recently, CSILLA played her first live hardware set in Boston.
Now relocated to Boston, CSILLA has been leaving her mark on the electronic music scene there and globally as well. Currently she is on the roster as one of Infra Boston and Aversion's residents. She also made her first appearance during Movement Festival, Detroit and has also performed at Unleash Your Energy, Thessaloniki Greece, Minus 5, Beirut, Lebanon as well as Gasoline Radio, Kyiv, Ukraine. She was also recently showcased on The Lot Radio, Brooklyn, NY.
But, what also sets CSILLA apart is not just her talent for creating and playing music that transcends borders but also her unwavering commitment to using her platform for a greater cause. The fundraiser collection where her track titled "Skazhi" was released, was a collaboration between Berlin's "Re:flect Recordings" and several partner organizations who are actively involved in providing essential humanitarian support to the people of Ukraine. She has also created and played numerous fundraiser events in solidarity.
As a socially conscious artist, CSILLA understands the importance of using her talent to make a positive impact in the world. Her passion for music extends beyond just creating tracks and performing for her fans. She believes that her music can be a catalyst for change, and her contributions to fundraiser collections stand as a testament to this belief.
With her finger on the pulse of the electronic music scene, and her heart dedicated to making a difference in the world, CSILLA is an artist to watch out for. Her deep roots in the electronic music scene, talent, dedication, and commitment to social responsibility are sure to make her a force to be reckoned with in the music industry for years to come.
