Cruel Mistress (Lizzy Oakley) began her house music journey in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the early 2000s, dancing at underground warehouse parties like Nightfreq, China Doll, and New City Movement. She first made her mark as a professional dancer and founded ArtsOfChaos, a female dance collective performing at house and techno events, including Electric Daisy Carnival and Deep Tropics Festival. Her deep passion for house music naturally led her to become a DJ where her talent and crowd-pleasing energy have earned her performances alongside top and up and coming artists like Sammy Virgi, Dimmish, Partiboi69, John Summit, Huerta, Rasho, Liquid Earth, Mungo Sound Machine, Danny Daze, Dj Minx and Soul Clap to name a few. Cruel Mistress’s sound blends 90s-inspired groovy basslines, UK Garage, tech-house, minimal creating sets that are both soulful and driving. In 2022, she launched Resonate, an underground house music party spotlighting local DJs and rising global talent.
