Cristal Roto is the alias of Lucía Montero, a DJ born and based in Madrid. Her encounter with electronic music four years ago marked a turning point in the way she understands and feels music: since then, she experiences techno as something deeply luminous and transformative, and that is what she seeks to convey in every one of her sets. After spending years moving through clubs and raves between Madrid, Amsterdam and Berlin, she felt a growing need to understand from the inside what was happening behind the decks, and so she started mixing. In October 2025 she launched her project with care and conviction, with a clear commitment to the club as a space of respect, freedom and collective belonging. Her sound moves between the intensity of techno and a deeply emotional sensibility. Cristal Roto's sets are built as carefully crafted sonic journeys, with a beginning, a middle and an end: a narrative architecture where rhythmic hypnosis, enveloping melodies, ethereal vocals and a constant experimental drive all coexist. Despite their introspective and sentimental nature, her sessions are impossible to resist on the dancefloor. Her artistic world extends beyond the boundaries of the club. Galician folk tradition, psychedelic indie and melancholic rock run through her artistic identity, surfacing in her selections as subtle touches that enrich without breaking coherence. The result is a deeply personal project, open to exploring different sonic nuances, that sees the dancefloor as a catalyst for connection, growth and transformation. Beyond the decks, Cristal Roto is part of the Awareness team at Symbole Community, one of the few initiatives of its kind in Spain, dedicated to ensuring that the club remains a safe environment for everyone.
