With a residency in Belfast's renowned Ulster Sports Club, DJ trio Bad Operator, Artois and Blarney are responsible for some of the biggest drum and bass parties to be held in Northern Ireland in recent years. David Campbell aka Bad Operator is the original resident of Crilli, which began in December 2005, with Seamus "Artois" Barnett and Kev "Blarney" Girvin becoming residents in 2018. Campbell is from Bangor, Seamus Barnett is from Hebden Bridge in England and Kev Girvin is from West Belfast. Bad Operator and Artois have released one collaboration EP to date, 2020's "130 University Street" EP, released during lockdown to mark 15 Years of Crilli. The EP name is a nod to the address of the now-closed Menagerie Bar, a legendary basement bar where Crilli had held regular events up until its closure in 2020.
