Concrete Husband
Biografía
Brooklyn-based DJ and Producer, Concrete Husband, weaves the sounds of hard groove, hard techno, and industrial techno to generate queer narratives of psychedelic mania and sweaty sensuality. With years of formal musical training as a classical flutist and composer, the rigor and discipline transfers over to meticulously crafted arcs of sound and imaginative transitions.
He curates undulating syncopations, mazes of polyrhythms and texture driven percussion to be paired with a relentless drive. Audiences have said his sound elicits a sense of dark fantasies and aggressive sexual energy.
Recent DJ engagements include: Basement NYC, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Function El Paso, Calle 9, Club Libido and various underground raves.
As a flutist and composer, his electronic and techno sound design seeps into his original productions and scores for fashion, film and fine arts spaces. Most recently, he was invited to be one of ten international fellows for Claire Chase’s Density 2036 Fellowship, an electronic piece commission for Mutamur on Montez Press Radio, head producer for Choral Chameleon’s Choral Rave, and the featured improvising flutist for A24’s Beau is Afraid, among others.
