COÀGUL is the muzak organ of transmedial artist Marc O'Callaghan, whose general work is usually dedicated to the experimentation with the symbolic connections between antagonical orders of reality. Its musick is geometrized with minimalist and loopy industrial bases, magickal bells, field recordings used as sonic sigils, and a crooner voice that spits axiomatic poems in Catalan language. Starting in 2009, after a long string of very limited editions in obscure labels and countless concerts around Barcelona's underground, the first LP «La Roda de la Justícia» is released in 2013 through Barcelona’s Màgia Roja label. In 2015 the second LP «La Forja Centrípeta» is published through Valencia’s BFE Records, and in 2016 the third LP «Tot Encaixa!» sees the light through the Austrian neofolk cult-label The Nekofutschata Musick Cabaret. On the same year, a fourth LP in collaboration with punk-noise band CADENA is released, together with the tape «Els Arcans de la Gentrificació Cíclica», both through the friend label Cønjuntø Vacíø. In 2019, another collaboration with post-industrial Catalan project ESCAMA SERRADA is released on CD through Grabaciones Sentimentales label. In Barcelona he has played in festivals like LEM and Sónar (2013), and in museums like CCCB (2014), MACBA (2015) and La Capella (2019). From time to time, his name has been known around Europe as he played in festivals like Tapette Fest in Bretagne (2016), KRAAK in Brussels (2016) or in Garage MU at La Station Paris (2017). As reflected in the infamous DJ sessions he has been recently launching as part of the HARDCORE WIZARDS collective, COÀGUL's sound has been paulatinely shifting from almost power-electronics post-industrial music towards a more shiny beat-driven sort of minimal happy hardcore or early gabber, though always maintaining the folk-connected pop song structure and the punk drive.
