With roots in the early 90s graffiti scene of his hometown Cologne, Claus Casper was involved in and around the circuits of the growing German-speaking HipHop movement at that time, and even featured on Advanced Chemistry's “Fremd im eigenen Land” back in 1992 – a track which can be seen as one of the most influential kick starters for the evolution of the German scene. After a night out at the legendary IT Club in Amsterdam things started to change and soon Claus Casper fell for something completely different – House music and all its derivatives based on a straight 4/4 foundation. Within a short time he found himself DJ'ing all over the place as well as dabbling in the studio, looking for the perfect beat. Casper finally made a big mark in the club season of 2013 with his tune “The Flow”, released on the Exploited vinyl offshoot Black Jukebox. This track received massive dancefloor and crowd response all over clubland and caused essential euphoria whenever it was played by names like Solomun, Adana Twins, Doctor Dru, Phonique and many more, putting Claus Casper on the map for a reason. Soon after that Claus Casper's “Deep Inside (I Need You)” was signed for a vinyl only release on the JEUDI Basics imprint – a sure shot which catered more dancefloor havoc throughout the season of 2014, championed by the likes of Pete Tong, Mousse T., Tensnake and Claptone. The list of labels and supporters has expanded ever since. You can find Claus's tracks and remixes, solo or with his buddies Jean Philips and Freiboitar, on established labels like Glasgow Underground, Toolroom, Mother Recordings, Future Disco, Hive Audio, Nitegrooves, Definition:Music and more. With an exciting 2020 ahead of him, including upcoming releases on the like of Armada Music and True Romance Records, Claus still has his finger very much on the pulse, after nearly 20 years in the studio.
