Christina Calamia has emerged onto Miami’s music scene with her signature DJ style of blending eclectic beats and melodious vocals. Profoundly influenced by the diverse cultural melting pot of Brooklyn, NY, where she was born and raised, she grew into a legit music enthusiast with deep passion for music, dancing and diversity. As a teenager, she couldn’t wait to slip through those velvet ropes and get her feet out on the dancefloor in the best NYC clubs just so she could experience performances by her favorite DJs and dance until sunrise. By the early 90’s, Christina planted her roots in historic New York City nightlife, working for legendary NYC nightclubs, Palladium,Tunnel and Limelight. She relocated to South Florida in 2000 and continued working in the nightclub industry on South Beach in clubs such as Billboard Live, Crobar, and Mynt Lounge. The artistic environments of night clubs in NYC and Miami, further encouraged her musical passion, and endeavors of being a DJ became a reality for Christina. In November of 2015, she officially began her first residency at the South Beach funky underground party “Keep It Deep Miami,” where every second Saturday of the month she rocks the house with DJ Ben Del Sol and Guest DJ's at Kill Your Idol. Christina played her first international gig at MI CASA HOLIDAY in October 2016 in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, where she jammed with international artists for an annual global soul musical holiday. In addition to Keep It Deep Miami, these days you can also listen to Christina; at her weekly residence at No.3 Social, "The Only Rooftop in Wynwood," Miami's Art District. You can often find Christina playing with well known DJ's and artists, as well as producing her own curated events via her company, Dirtee Stay Out Productions (DSO). Be sure to tune into DSO Radio show broadcasting every second Saturday of the month via Dancegruv.net (5pm-6pm EST).
