I started off at 14 being inspired by the scratching and cuts of DJ jazzy Jeff. As I’ve progressed I have joined teams with the CREC Collective (we run events, music videos and sell our own merch) and also Asha FM (running events with a hand built sound system). I host my two monthly radio slots on Netil Radio (reggae, funk & soul, uk rap, hip hop) and on Mode London (Dubstep, grime, speed garage, 140). I try my best to throw myself fully into the music scene in London, going to events to meet like minded individuals and learn from others. I had become obsessed with vinyl in the last 5 years and the addiction only got worse with dubstep. I PLAN ON DOING A BLINDFOLDED MIX FOR THE SHOW ? "Chedda Bred is a DJ and musician hailing from North London, his Finsbury Park heritage is ever present in his selection of underground Dubstep, Grime, reggae, hip hop & more. From DJing in his bedroom at 15, he’s gone on to hosting multiple radio shows and performing all over London for the past 10 years in venues such as Koko Camden, Jazz Cafe, Outernet, Cross the Tracks Festival, Moko, and Soho House + a multitude of grass roots venue all over the city. But his selection goes far beyond the previously mentioned styles, he is also a big lover of Funk/Soul, uk rap, Disco, House, Jungle, UK Garage, Dancehall + more His biggest DJ influences are, DJ Jazzy Jeff, for Hip Hop and technical platter manipulation, Daseplate for heavy selection and Calibre for Clean blends. Starting on a £90 controller, he slowly evolved to a humble setup of one CDJ 1000 with one belt drive turntable then moving to two turntable and now mixing comfortable with 4 decks. Along side his own dj sets, Chedda has also DJed with multiple Singers and Rappers such as: Bawo, BaggE, Osquello, Stef Montinaro, JoSoSick, Duppy, Bel Cobain, Danny Sanchez ect. He also joined Declan McKenna for his UK Tour in 2019 visiting Brighton, London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Chedda is busy on the airwaves, hosting his own shows on Mode London, Screen Line return (Dubstep/ Grime on vinyl) and Netil Radio, Chedda Bred Show (Reggae, Soul). Also visiting other spots for guest-mixes on stations such as Rinse FM, BBC 1Xtra, Balamii and Kindred. He uses these shows to promote up coming shows as well as events he is a part of running. Recently start a new party series called “140SPESH”, a grime and dubstep party with the best DJs and MCs. He runs other events with the two collectives he is part of, The CREC Collective (events and multimedia) and Asha_FM (Sound System and Blog) Ask anyone in town, DJ Chedda Bred can curate a set to make you fall in love, throw a gun finger, dance till you drop or beg him for the ID.
