Throughout his schooling life, Charlie kept his electronic music interests private while he spent time progressing through the grades of classical piano and alto saxophone. It wasn’t until 2023, after several bootlegs & hundreds of abandoned projects, that Charlie felt motivated to kickstart his musical journey with a self-released album titled ‘Carpe Diem’. He discovered a particular affection for the forward-thinking attitude of the UK underground after spending 9 months in Newcastle-upon-Tyne from September 2023 to soak up the scene, playing supporting acts for household names such as BAKEY, Tommy Villiers & Sophia Violet. Charlie Shell is quickly becoming known for his versatility across both underground & commercial sounds. Known for his experimentation across genres, his sets & releases deliver an eclectic fusion of UKG, breaks, house & progressive tech. Charlie’s more recent momentum is unmissable, accumulating over 2m Spotify streams in 2024 and having his most recent single, ‘HITZ 4 THE HOOD’, sits at #1 on Beatport’s UKG chart for several weeks. Frontrunner support on his music is countless, including names like DJ Seinfeld, Young Franco, Sarah Story, Diffrent, Groove Armada, Main Phase & many more. Extensive radio support for his releases includes airtime on BBC Radio 1, triple J, KISS FM & Rinse FM, and releases have even been used in campaigns for Nike & Eurovision. The first half of 2025 saw Charlie playing alongside Badger, Jeremy Sylvester & BVNQUET, and he is now underway on his extensive winter AU/NZ tour.
