Cereza

Queer nightlife has been a site of self discovery and healing for Cereza, and it is her mission to pass that gift on to others. It was there, in the belly of the beat, that she found her womanhood and a rare sensation of peace. Beginning from basement shows in Oakland and spanning parties such as Hot Mass, Collapse Shapes, Cleaner Tapes, Sweet Abyss, Work in Progress and Cyberia, Cereza owes everything to the DIY scene in Pittsburgh. Meeting other trans people through the scene provided her with community and helped hone her craft. Cereza aspires to be a rave mother— holding open the portal for the next generation of seekers. Through the rupture of routine and ecstasy of dance, she hopes to show a better world is possible.
