Cassius Holland
Biografía
Since starting his musical journey at the Ministry of Sound in London, Cassius Holland has developed a great feel for the club. After shows with XOYO London and the Formula 1 paddock the love for the dance floor manifested into what it is today. His move to Newcastle at the age of 19 saw him play venues such as digital, the social club, world headquarters and many more including shows with one of his mentors "Megan Fernandez" at Madison in London. Since then he has become one of the minds behind Newcastles newest minimal house event "Side by Side" hosting and supporting the likes of: Robbie Doherty, Louis Toon, Adam Lance and many more. The best is yet to come.
His love for electronic music stems deep, originally from his parents and best friend exposing him to the art from a young age. After many years of practicing classical music he chose to get immersed within DAW "Ableton" where he attended the 'London Sound Academy' that gave Cassius Holland the tools which enabled him to create his first demos in addition to honing his 'vinyl mixing' skills. His love for vinyl derived from his dutch father which has seen him inspired by artists such as Faithless, Moby, Kerri Chandler and Carl Cox with more to name. However, it was the likes of Across Boundaries, Marsolo and Sidney Charles among many others that led him to the passion for Minimal House that he now has.
As a DJ, his sets are now filled with his own unreleased music where you can expect driving baselines and airy pads dancing on top of grooving drum lines. These paired with records from some other rising artists as well as those who have become established in the space make for sets that move a dance floor.
Ultimately, Cassius Holland is a student of the art. He is excited to always keep learning more from the greats and also those who he meets along his journey. He intends to keep serving new unreleased music and showcase his musical evolution. For him, this is only the beginning.
