Bytz
Biografía
Myroslaw Bytz has been producing many flavors of electronic music, sound design, and audio experimentation since 1997. He has been dedicated to the resurgence of New York City as an international capital of electronic music, curating and producing over 1000 events encompassing the breadth of techno, house, jungle, bass music, trip-hop and dub. Known for weaving together different musical threads and genres in curating events, his sets as well reflect backgrounds in field recording, film scores, dub techno, and deep house. Bytz has played regularly at the top nightclubs in NYC, including Output, Cielo, Elsewhere, and Good Room, as well as the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, Mysteryland, Elements Festival, Gather, Dub Champions Festival, and warehouse parties such as Blkmarket Membership and Rinsed.
Bytz has held multi-year residencies at two of the clubs at the forefront of the Brooklyn underground: TBA Brooklyn and Bossa Nova Civic Club. He founded the Secret Guests collective in 2014 to showcase and develop local talents in his native city, and in 2015 co-founded the internationally acclaimed and uncompromisingly eclectic Bushwick A/V afterhours series, which became the Brooklyn hub for breakout talent from countless countries. He completed five European tours in the 2010s, with performances in Berlin, Ibiza, Kyiv, Paris, Lisbon, Stockholm, Prague, Vienna, Madrid, and more.
Since 2019, Bytz has turned nomadic, residing in various regions including India, Bali, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia, bringing his love of deep and dubby sounds to new areas, and soaking up new influences and inspirations. During the global events shutdown of 2020/21, he stayed busy, performing in livestreams for Burning Man, Charivari Detroit, Grey Area and Pangea. Bytz spent 2021 touring Mexico, and 2022 in Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, and Zanzibar, before finally returning east in 2023 to re-launch and re-focus Secret Guests. In Asia he has since been producing events and connected projects including the RE:FIX Festival (Bangkok), Pure (Koh Phangan), Warehouse Rave (Phnom Penh), dip (Da Nang) and many more. Bytz co-founded Cambodia Community Radio and Da Nang Community Radio in 2024 to continue his mission to develop the local music talents in Asia.
