Byrd’s journey through electronic music has always been rooted in the dance floor. After more than 15 years of DJing, he began focusing heavily on techno around 2020, developing an artist project centered on performance, emotion, movement and the deeper connection between music and people. Based in San Diego, Byrd has become an active part of the city’s techno community while steadily expanding beyond his home market. His recent performances have taken him to Las Vegas and Denver, with Arizona and the Bay Area becoming part of the next chapter. Each city represents a different point in the journey, from returning to places connected to his earliest days as a DJ to stepping into new rooms and audiences as a developing touring artist. His approach behind the decks is built around energy and progression. Byrd moves between driving techno, hard techno, hypnotic grooves and melodic textures, building sets that prioritize movement while leaving room for emotion and atmosphere. His goal is never simply to play tracks, but to create a complete experience that develops with the room. Production has become an equally important part of that evolution. His music has appeared on labels including Blok Records and Zalmanim, with his 2024 release “Do You Love Me?” reaching #21 on Beatport’s Top 100 Techno chart. His 2026 EP, “We Will Rave Again,” explored grief, friendship, healing and the lasting connection created through dance music. That balance between personal storytelling and the physical energy of a rave continues to shape Byrd’s work. His music and performances are part of a larger artist journey built on consistency, community and the belief that the experiences created on a dance floor can stay with us long after the night ends.
